It is great to see when an organization lives out its values as it engages in strategic planning.  The Board did an outstanding job ensuring that the voices of clients, volunteers, staff, partners and the community were heard.  I was so impressed with the level of commitment, critical thinking and intuition from Board members as they reflected on the gathered data and the insights from stakeholders.  Based on this, their plan focuses on collective impact – for their region – not just the organization.  As a Board member once reflected, “we need to think about the needs of all people in our area, not just our current clients.  That’s our responsibility as leaders.” It’s been great to see how this commitment to collective impact has ignited fresh conversations with partners. ~Maria
